How To Set Up A Round Pen

BASE AND FOOTING
It is recommended that the base be prepared prior to setting up the round pen. The footing can be installed before or after, depending on the situation.
ROUND PEN CENTER
Establish the desired center of the round pen. Secure a temporary stake at this location. Measurements will be made from this center point while positioning posts or panel ends.
MEASURING
It will be necessary to have a tape measure, or other device, capable of accurately measuring the Radius calculated by RoundPenGen.
Hint: Attach tape measure end to the center stake.
Measurements will be made to panel ends, or to post centers for post construction.
Hint: For post construction, use a second measuring device for marking the distance between posts.
PRIMARY GATE
Determine the general position of the primary gate. Then situate the gate such that each end is exactly one Radius from the center.
Hint: For post construction, situate the first post. Determine the total distance between gate post centers, including hinges, etc. Measure that distance from the center of the first post to where it intersects with a Radius measurement.
SIDES
Continue with the sides in the same manner as the primary gate: placing each panel end one Radius from the center. If a secondary gate is being used, it can be added in the same fashion.
